I am completely new to the raw food movement. I don’t plan on a full conversion, but playing with new recipes is always fun. I wanted to start trying out some recipes because I have started to take a daily supplement of TriPow, which is a green powder that is made up of two types of algae: superfood Spirulina and Chlorella. You don’t want to heat TriPow because it kills the nutrients. The easiest way to take TriPow is to either mix it in some freshly squeezed orange juice, or to add it to your smoothy. Since it is Christmas and I love baking, I decided to try a raw food recipe that I could incorporate TriPow in and share with friends and family. It was delicious, everyone loved them, and I can’t wait to try more recipes!

This recipe took me about 10 minutes to make.

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup of pistachios

2 tbps coconut flakes

1/3 melted coconut oil

1/3 cup honey

1/4 tsp salt

2 tsp TriPow

Directions

  1. Remove the pistachios from their shell and blend them into a powder. (I used my magic bullet to this and it worked very well)
  2. Mix all of the ingredients in a big bowl using a spatula.
  3. Lay out some plastic wrap and poor the mixture on it. Spread it out and then using the plastic wrap, roll it into a salami form.
  4. Put it in the fridge for 12-24 hours.
  5. Using a sharp knife, cut it into slices and arrange however you wish. I chose to make it in a Christmas tree.
  6. Serve garnished with fresh fruits and if you like, some coconut flakes.
